assure parents and children “an Even Start”
WHAT DOES BRAIN
RESEARCH TEACH PARENTS?
You can make your baby smarter by
what you do when he is a baby. Once this window of opportunity closes
you have to play catch up.
Parent and Child interaction in the
first three years sets the stage for future behaviors
Between 10 and 18 months, a baby’s
emotional intelligence and long-term memory begins to be wired.
The more words your child hears by
the age of 2, the more words he will be able to speak
A 3 year old who listens to music
every day has a head start in learning how to solve problems that will
help him with learning math later on.
The interactions between a child and
parent are key to healthy development and school success.
-
Repetition is key to mastering
skills
-
Infants thrive on one-to-one interaction
with parents
-
Sensitive, nurturing parenting
provides a child with a sense of trust that allows them to feel
confident and form positive lasting relationships
-
Touching, holding, rocking, talking
and reading to an infant are essential for the development of intellectual
competency and language comprehension.
-
Those
parts of the brain that aren’t stimulated through voice, sight,
touch and other nurturing will eventually die off. So…
Hug and kiss and play with your child...talk to your baby, in as
many languages you like...read to your child...listen to classical
music with your child.
This program can host only twenty (20) families at
