The
Hoopa Valley Tribal Council is comprised of 7 elected Councilpeople
and one elected Chairperson.
Of the 7 councilpeople, one is elected by the council to represent them
as the Vice-Chairperson.
The 7 elected officials are representatives of the 7 fields or districts
that correspond to Traditional
Village Sites and make up the Hoopa Valley.

The
Hoopa Valley Tribal Primary Election was held on Tuesday, April 28th, 2009 at the Hoopa Tribal Council
Chambers. There were three seats up for election, (CHAIRMAN SEAT, SOCTISH/CHEYNONE, AND AGENCY FIELD). For more information call (530) 625-4211 ext.132.
There were #1454 members of the Hoopa Valley Tribe who were qualified to vote in this election. There was a total of #579 who voted at the polls and a total of #169 who voted absentee, for a combined total of #748 members who voted this election
