PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
The Hoopa Valley Tribal Police Department is informing the public that the Animal Control Ordinance (Title 68) will be enforced with zero tolerance.
Beginning January 28, 2026, the public will have 30 days to come into full compliance with the ordinance. After the 30-day compliance period has ended, the Hoopa Valley Tribal Police Department will begin enforcement actions, which may include citations and/or confiscation, as permitted under Tribal law.
This notice is being issued to ensure the community is aware of the enforcement timeline and expectations. All residents are encouraged to review the ordinance and take the necessary steps to comply within the provided timeframe.
Our priority is the safety of the community, the protection of animals, and the enforcement of Tribal law.
