CAPTAIN | Hoopa Fire Department
Temporary, F/T, Salary: $20.89/hr
Accomplishes Fire Department objectives and supervises an Engine or Crew Module in fire suppression activities on the Hoopa Indian Reservation. Provides knowledge of local fire behavior, fire weather, fuel types, access, hazards and other matters critical to the suppression of wildfires. Minimum Requirements: Must be 18 years of age or older. Must have a High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum Red Card rating as Engine Boss, Must be able to obtain certification at the Crew Boss level within 1 calendar year of hire and have a Strike Team Leader Engine task book initiated or better to NWCG standards. Must have at least five (5) seasons experience in wild land fire operations. These 5 seasons must contain at least 3 seasons on a wildland fire engine with at least 2 of those season as the primary driver-operator or Captain of a wild land fire engine. Only one season of fire experience may be substituted with 15 units or more of directly related classroom subjects, and/or 4 months or more of directly related field experience, pending Fire Management approval. Must possess and maintain a class B commercial or firefighters CA Driver’s License with Tank, Air Brake, and Firefighter endorsements and be insurable. Must pass work capacity test (pack test) at the arduous level.

ACADEMIC CASEWORKER | The Hupa Learning Center/NDN Center/JOM Program
Regular, F/T, Salary $12.18/hr
Supports students at risk of academic failure and in social turmoil or distress with academic tutoring and socio-emotional development skills through mentoring, tutoring, and culturally relevant activities, including summer activities such as Acorn and Warrior Camps. Responsible for developing individualized plans with students and providing one-on-one and group mentoring and tutoring. Minimum Qualifications: Must have a High school diploma or GED. Must pass the Humboldt County Office of Education Paraprofessional exam. Post-secondary math and language art skills are necessary for tutoring. Must have a TB clearance to work in the school district. First Aid and CPR certificates required or willing to obtain. Must have a current Food Handlers Card or willing to obtain. Must have a Valid CA Driver’s License and be insurable. Subject to a full background check including fingerprints in accordance with Title 30-A.

SURVEILLANCE OFFICER | Hoopa Gaming Commission
Temporary, P/T, Salary $10.00-$12.00/hr
Monitors premises of the Lucky Bear Casino to detect violations, crimes or disturbances, using closed circuit television monitors. Minimum Requirements: Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Must have good English writing skills with the ability to write, type and communicate adequately for the position. Ability to obtain and maintain a Tribal Gaming License. Must maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times. Must be able to pass a background check.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT | Hoopa Recreation Department
Regular, F/T, Salary: $16.00/hr. DOE
Responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating programs for the community, as well as assisting the Recreation Director with administrative duties. Minimum Qualifications: Must have an AA Degree in General Studies. Must have two (2) years of recent experience working in a Recreation setting or related field. Must possess general computer skills and knowledge of word processing software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, and Outlook. Must possess current First Aid & CPR Certificates (or able to obtain within 90 days of hire). Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, some weekends and holiday hours when needed. Must possess a valid CA Driver’s License and be insurable. Subject to a full background check including fingerprints according to Title 30-A.

NURSERY WORKER (2) | Hoopa Tribal Forestry Department
F/T, Temporary, Salary: $10.00/hr. Fills and seeds planting containers, waters, thins and weeds seeded containers. Pulls and counts seedlings. Sorts according to size, appearance and physical conditions. Minimum Requirements: High School diploma or general education degree (GED). Must be skilled in the use of simple hand tools (i.e. shovels, rakes, weeding tools, etc.) commonly associated with garden work. Must possess a valid California Driver’s License and be insurable.

STORE MANAGER | Hoopa Shopping Center
Regular, F/T, Salary: DOE
Effectively develops and directs implementation of strategies which achieve corporate goals. Effectively supervises, directs and manages all phases of the store operations. Achieves the Hoopa Shopping Center’s goals and objectives. Minimum Requirements: Must have a minimum of 2-3 years in a management position. Must have 7-10 years in the Grocery Store Business. Must have prior supervisory experience. Must have a current Food Handlers certificate. English language proficiency, both speaking and reading.
