HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR, Hoopa Forestry Department, F/T, Temporary (Seasonal), Salary: DOE. Operates one or more heavy gasoline or diesel powered wheeled or crawler type engineering and construction equipment, e.g., grader, tractors with dozer blades, shovel tract loader, log loaders, front end loaders, backhoes, large industrial tractors with pan or scrapper attachments, etc. on flat or rolling terrain. Operates one or more types of equipment to push, pull, pile, or load material such as logs, sand, gravel, or earth; to clear brush; tree stumps and rocks; and plow snow on forest roads, etc. Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older. Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Must possess a Valid CA Driver’s License or (able to obtain one within 90 days of hire), and be insurable. Must have a minimum of at least three (3) years of experience operating heavy equipment, and reference must be available upon request. Must be punctual, dependable, and self-starter. Must be in good physical condition. DEADLINE: May 8, 2017.

HIGH SCHOOL INTERNS (4), Hoopa Tribal Forestry-Wildlife Department, F/T, Temporary, Salary $10.00/hr. The purpose of this position is to introduce the successful applicant to the various forestry and wildlife projects conducted by the tribe and stimulate an interest in a natural resources career path. Will shadow field biologists and technicians working on various projects, including but not limited to Spotted Owl and Barred Owl road and territory surveys, Fisher Telemetry, and data entry during the field season. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 16 years of age or older. Must be enrolled at Hoopa High School or a 2017 graduate thereof. Must be in good physical health and capable of continuous strenuous field work, such as hiking in steep terrain and lifting of heavy objects in all weather conditions. Ability to work odd hours, including early mornings and evenings/nights in the dark. Must be punctual, dependable, and self-starter. DEADLINE: May 12, 2017.

OFFICE ASSISTANT, Hoopa Education Department, Temporary, F/T, Salary: $13.00/hr. Assists Office Manager with clerical duties: filing, answer phones, and update student files. Also assists with Sovereign Day activities. Min. Qualifications: Must have a High School Diploma or GED, Current college student (preferred), Must possess a Valid CA Driver’s License and be insurable. DEADLINE: May 15, 2017.
