On Thursday April 16, 2026 - The Hoopa Valley Tribe’s Tribal Police Department, Fire Department, and Hoopa Ambulance recently welcomed third grade students from Hoopa Elementary School for an engaging and educational visit focused on public safety and community awareness.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to tour department facilities, explore emergency response vehicles, and learn firsthand about the roles and responsibilities of local first responders. Personnel from each department took time to speak with students, answer questions, and demonstrate how their equipment is used to keep the community safe.

The visit provided a hands-on learning experience that helped students better understand the importance of public safety services and the teamwork involved in emergency response. Students were able to see inside police vehicles, fire engines, and emergency response units, creating a memorable and interactive experience. This collaborative effort reflects the Tribe’s continued commitment to youth engagement, education, and building positive relationships between first responders and the community. Events like this help foster trust, encourage curiosity, and inspire the next generation to learn more about careers in public safety.

The Hoopa Valley Tribe extends its appreciation to the Hoopa Tribal Police Department, Hoopa Fire Department, and Hoopa Ambulance for taking the time to invest in the community’s youth and provide a meaningful and educational experience.
